Dried flower heads are naturally light green , papery, and teardrop shaped.

Height 30 - 40 inches.
Cultivar  
Propagation Sow direct in spring.
Cultivation Full sun in average soil.
Harvest Cut phalaris well before maturity to eliminate head shattering. Harvest early in season for natural green color.
Drying Hang phalaris upside down in dry, dark, open, airy place.
Grown for its shining yellow seeds which are fed to birds, giving it the name Canary Grass.
